It’s June and the temperature is on the up – finally! So I have a roundup of the best dresses for your summer wardrobe from Tall Order Clothing.
The clothing brand was set up by fellow tall goddess, Alison Lavenant, who after struggling to find clothes that fit her perfectly decided to take matters into her own hands. Tall Order Clothing offers a range of clothing that is flattering and comfortable for taller women who are looking for the perfect pieces in their capsule wardrobe. Sadly, due to personal circumstances, Alison has decided that it’s time to take a break from the world of tall fashion but she hopes to be back with a new collection in the not so distant future. This cloud has a silver lining as there’s a 70% sale on the entire Tall Order collection so if you’re quick, you’ll be able to grab yourself a bargain.
The Carin tunic dress is now sold out but when I tried it on for the first time, I couldn’t believe that the cinched in waist actually sat naturally on my waistline and the hem sat happily on my knee. Epiphany doesn’t do it justice. I have been in clothing denial for so long that every top I bought I kidded myself it was supposed to be three-quarter length and every dress was fashioned to be a mini skirt. But no longer. I’ve been shopping the 70% sale to solve my work-appropriate hemline troubles before these smart and stylish designs sell out completely.
It isn’t just the fit that makes Tall Order Clothing so special, it is the fabrics that have been chosen which mean that the clothes are wearable, durable and are perfect partners to what you already have in your wardrobe. I put two of these dresses to the test when I went to Sicily for a much needed spring break. The Beatrice shirt dress (above: which is still available in limited sizes) is made of Modal and was one of my favourite looks to wear on holiday with high wedges and a straw hat.The other was the stunning asymmetric hemline Berit sleeveless dress (above & below: still available in limited sizes) This was perfect for evening walks and late dinners on the terrace. It is a cotton chambray mix that is cool and comfortable to wear and the denim dye pattern feels very on trend but without the heaviness of wearing real denim on a hot day.
My other highlights from Tall Order’s summer selection are the few bright pieces Alison has included. The Bliss front tie dress is one of my new officewear solutions on a day when I just can’t bare to wear black again! The soft, buttery modal fabric of this dress means that the bright colour is muted and adds to the elegance of the design. Above all this is one of the comfiest dresses I own, but it is far from tent-like – like many of my other comfy numbers! Due to the tie at the front, the dress still has shape and accentuates the waistline.
Another dress that I have coveted, while browsing the Tall Order online shop is the Birgit round neck dress for its bright and summery style. This has a simple fit but the brilliant pattern and comfortable shape makes me sure it is a must purchase for my summer wardrobe. And if unlike me you’re not a fan of yellow it is also available in a Breton stripe! As mentioned, Tall Order Clothing is currently having a 70% off sale so you can pick up all of the dresses in this post and much more for a fraction of their normal price but I urge you to hurry as it is selling out fast!
So go on, treat yourself, and show your support for a small clothing brand who really knows how to design and dress your beautiful long legged frame. I wish Alison all the very best and hope it won’t be too long before she brings Tall Order Clothing back into my life and into my tall wardrobe!
