5’11” Rachel joined our team of TGM contributors in October last year. She lives in the south of England and takes any opportunity to hop on a train for the London theatre scene. Working full time and being Mum to her three children, Rachel was struggling to find time for anything theatrical. And then she discovered blogging as a creative outlet.

Rachel has written some fantastic articles for Tall Guides Magazine, with topics ranging from Mums and Time management to Motivation, Mindset and Men – the Digital Dating Survival Guide is up there among our favourites!

Rachel can often be found running a marathon or climbing a mountain and it was clear that she wasn’t going to shy away from a challenge so… we asked her to do something different. Something that was outside the comfort zone of her own blog and review a couple of pieces from the Tallgirls collection for us.

This form-fitting floral black dress is a classy number. Being made of heavy fabric means it delivers on great support and that all-important smooth silhouette. The crossover neckline and the gentle ruching across the front not only create interest but it’s extremely flattering. I loved the v in the back neckline, the cut being just right to hide any straps.

My verdict: a great little black dress for summer – or winter with a jacket and tights. The length was good on me, sitting just below the knee and I felt really elegant. The ‘stretch’ in the fabric made it comfortable to wear and I could imagine dancing in it all night long!

This jacket is one of those versatile must-have wardrobe staples. I wore it here with black capri pants and a white top. Although it looked equally as sophisticated over jeans, and the dress.

My verdict: I loved it! It was the perfect length sitting just below my waist, and the cut and seam detail on the back accentuated my shape. I liked the way it hung at the front, clean and open, giving a good backdrop for my murano glass necklace from Venice!
